Songs from our Classes.

Every class offers an opportunity to sing with your baby or toddler or preschooler. Music is a very important part of First Steps and we hope the words you find below are helpful so you can sing along at home and also in class with us. Let us know if you'd like us to add a song you're trying to learn. These are just a few of the ones we love.

Looking for a great playdough recipe? Here it is!

Circletime Songs & Fingerplays

Ring around the rosie,
A pocketful of posies,
Ashes, ashes, we all fall down.
Pulling up the daisies,
Pulling up the daisies,
Achoo, achoo, we all stand up!

We're gonna shake, shake, shake our sillies out,
Shake, shake, shake our sillies out,
Shake, shake, shake our sillies out,
Wiggle our waggles away.
We're gonna clap... clappies out
We're gonna jump... jumpies out
We're gonna run... runnies out

Everybody, everybody jump up and down, jump up and down, jump up and down.
Everybody, everybody jump up and down, then sit right back down.
(Repeat with boys & girls)

The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round.
The wheels on the bus go round and round, all through the town.
The wipers... go swish swish swish
The horn... goes beep beep beep
The lights... go blink blink blink
The children... go up and down
The grownups... say I love you

Open and shut them,
Open and shut them,
Give a little clap clap clap.
Open and shut them,
Open and shut them,
Lay them in your lap lap lap.
Creep them, crawl them,
Creep them, crawl them,
Right up to your chinny-chin-chin,
Open wide your little mouth
But do not let them in.

Jack in the box, still as a mouse
Deep down inside your little dark house
Jack in the box, resting so still
Will you come out?
Yes I will!
(Repeat with Jill)

Goodbye everybody, yes indeed, yes indeed, yes indeed
Goodbye everybody, yes indeed, we'll see you all next week

It's time to blow some bubbles

It's time to blow some bubbles, some bubbles, some bubbles
It's time to blow some bubbles, let's blow some right now
There'll be big ones and little ones and teeny ones and tiny ones
It's time to blow some bubbles, let's blow some right now

I've Got A Rabbit On My Shoulder

(An echo song; Â…teacher sings, the group repeats line by line.)
I've got a rabbit on my shoulder. I've got a ducky in my shoe.
On top of my head, I've got a kangaroo.
There's a kitty in my ear. There's a monkey on my knee.
My mouth is full of elephants. And a goose is kissing me.
I'm sitting on a lion, while the puppies lick my nose.
And a little tiny chicken Â… is pecking at my toes.
I've got a goat in my throat. I've got a fly in my eye.
There's a bear on my tummy. Good-bye.

Raindrops

Some little raindrops come quietly down,
They hide in the grass and they don't make a sound
But some little raindrops are scolding us,
They splash on the window and make such a fuss.
So, come little raindrops so we can see,,,
Are you quiet little raindrops?
OR...Noisy as can be!

Fishies

Have you ever gone swimming on a hot summer day?
Did you see the little fishies swimming up and down the bay? (make hands
With their hands in their pockets and their pockets in their pants.
All the little fishies doing the hoochie, choochie dance!
